I've never really surfed the Ocean before, but I would love to surf here. Many nice rides, and even tho crowded all seems relaxed and having fun.

As a bodyboarder the worst thing that can happen to me is loosing my fins. When you dive under a big wave and it breaks on your legs, sometimes one of them is removed by the impact. So you have to sit there in the impact zone, trying to put it back but when you do, you can't swim anymore so you go down. If you're out of breath and waves are still coming, it can quickly escalate.

If you can actually catch one, when it's ON... you should go buy a lottery ticket, with whatever you make on the video...

2:41 that's backwash. If you rewind a little and watch the wave through to where the barrel swallows the surfer, you can see backwash rolling into the wave. (You called it backwave at 4:15, but it looks exactly the same, 4:25 was the same too)

Surfing is a sport of contradictions. The most “chill” bros who wouldn’t think twice about shanking you in the parking lot for taking their wave. All while wearing Uggs.

I knew the owner Bart in the 70’s and I believe his sons took it over in the 80’s. Great Memories!

County line beach, not too much further down the coast, is probably the best beach in the LA area! Alot more space and good waves for beginner and advanced.

4:07 professional swimmers do one at a time but professional rowers do in sync🤷‍♂️ it’s pretty comparable to either. The problem on a surf is that you’re throwing your weight back and forth. Especially on short boards
